A litte-known Gulf of Mexico hero
Former Corpus Christi Caller-Times publisher Ed Harte was instrumental in the establishment of Padre Island National Seashore and Mustang Island State Park, and founded the Harte Research Institute for Gulf of Mexico Studies at Texas A&M University Corpus Christi.
