Hi Melissa - thank you for your recent article in Scientific America on animal/vehicle collisions. The numbers are staggering. As more Americans take to the roads for summer vacation, this is a topic that needs more coverage. Colorado has tried to be proactive, but is limited by funding. We are fortunate to have Animal Help Now, the technical support program that people can use to assist animals that are injured. The program is also available now in Texas, thanks to generous grants and volunteers. Please visit their website at www.ahnow.org to learn more about what this organization is doing. Again, thank you for such an important and timely article! - Evelyn Pinney
