I read your article in the Feb. 09 Family Fun magazine and found your blog. I've enjoyed browsing through the articles you've posted here. We seem to have a lot in common.
I am also a freelance writer, with a focus on travel and the outdoors. I've been a regular contributor to Family Fun magazine for 5 years, writing mostly reviews and a few other small items. This year, I've been working hard to break into some new markets, but I haven't had much success yet. I would particularly like to do more travel writing. I have written some small travel pieces for Family Fun and have a family travel website:

I'm impressed with your writing and your clips. Any advice on breaking into new markets or is it just a matter of persistence?
